Virtual backgrounds

All our ‘Photoshop + PNG’ sets will include at least one ready-to-use virtual background image. You can use this for Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or any video conferencing app that allows you to load a single image as a virtual background.

In addition to this we’ve also included a number of ‘quick start’ virtual background layers. These are super helpful to get started! The layers are merged into a single image, but with transparent ‘holes’ for the screen and skyline.

So if your software allows you to add more than one layer it’s super easy to drop your own pictures or video behind. You can add a different skyline outside the window, and of course put your own content into the screen!

PNG Layers

You’ll find a folder called ‘layers’ which contains each individual layer from the Photoshop version, saved out as a separate PNG image:

example-skyline (this is the background layer with the view outside the window – you can replace this with your own skyline if you like)
midground (this is the main studio layer)
glass (an optional layer that provides subtle reflections in the windows)
lightbox-color (there are 2 separate lighting layers – you can use one, or both, and change the green to your own colours if you like)
screen-example (the ‘Your Show’ image – you can use this as a guide to put your own content in the screen)
screen-surround (this gives you the little border and lighting effect around the screen)

These give you even more options to work with! Maybe you’re building the set in your editing software, but still need control over all the separate elements. Or you might want to create different variations that you can pre-compose and save for later!

Photoshop version

The Photoshop version is a standard .psd (RGB, 16 bits per channel) at full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels).

There are separate layers for the skyline, the glass in the windows and the edge of the monitor screen.

There are also two layers of colour for the lightboxes which you can blend and adjust in Photoshop to give you endless variations.

Custom virtual sets

The extra layers that we’ve included allow you to customize the virtual set to suit your own requirements and branding. So you’re really not getting just ONE virtual studio set – you’re getting as many variations as your clients (or imagination!) can dream up!
