TriCaster live inputs

(Updated : April 2019)

Some virtual studios from virtualstudiosets.com have the potential for more than 2 live sources. Some TriCasters will have only 2 live Inputs available, while others (e.g. TriCaster 8000) give you four live inputs into Tricaster virtual sets. This is a quick tutorial explaining how our virtual sets appear once you’ve imported the Photoshop file into NewTek’s Virtual Set Editor (VSE).

Video transcript follows:

This is just a quick heads up for TriCaster users. When you import one of our Photoshop files into NewTek’s Virtual Set Editor, you’ll find all the ‘talent’ placeholders already assigned to Input A, and all the other live inputs assigned to Input B by default. That’s really just so they’re still selectable if you’re on a 2 Input device. You can go through and change any of them for static images if you like. So, in this example from Studio 1, you could maybe put your own still image in for the skyline, and a programme logo in one of the screens (or turn it off completely) and still keep your live Input B in the other one.

If you’ve got four inputs into your virtual sets – like on a Tricaster 8000, then you can obviously assign your additional Inputs C and D for any of those – and in theory have moving sources in all of them.

So it’s really just to be aware of how many actual live sources you have available on your TriCaster. That’s it. Thanks for watching.
