Green screen backgrounds (Lexus)

Following on from my custom virtual set for Toyota for the Paris Motor Show last year, I was delighted to be asked to help with the Lexus Digital Press Conference for the Geneva Motor Show.
We took a slightly different approach to the green screen presentations this time. Instead of building three entirely ‘virtual’ environments, we used existing (real) locations as the basis for the backgrounds, shot as video footage at 4K. We then added virtual screens for the video content – one was in place of an existing screen, and the other two screens were created from scratch using Cinema 4D and Photoshop, and integrated into the backgrounds.
All the presenters were shot on green screen, and then the backgrounds were added in post-production. I think they work quite nicely, and it was certainly a very efficient way to achieve the end result.
